I am being met with continued failure in trying to install "9110_0_UVG_242_DNN4.zip" into a DNN website version 4.8.4.
Once the install has begun, the page just sits ther processing until I get the error message:
Thread was being aborted. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted.
Source Error:
An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below. | Stack Trace:

System.Web.HttpApplication.System.Web.IHttpAsyncHandler.BeginProcessRequest(HttpContext context, AsyncCallback cb, Object extraData) +141
System.Web.HttpRuntime.ProcessRequestInternal(HttpWorkerRequest wr) +436
</PRE> |
After this error occurs, I navigate back to my site and there I see from the Module dropdown list that the first 4 or 5 UVG modules are listed. They don't work, but they are listed in the dropdown menu.
I have also tried adjusting my timeout length to see if that would allow the install to finish, but that has not worked either.
I have attempted to use the zip files "9110_1639_UVG_242_DNN4_SRC.zip" and even "9110_0_UVG_210_DNN3.zip", but they also will not work for me.
Your help and guidance is most appreciated.

it's a bug of DNN core. there should be 13 UVG modules in Module Definition after a good installation. can you find these modules? if so, does it work if you add them to a DNN page? |

I've been having problems upgrading this module for several versions now. It just times out. Currently I've taken the site offline and am trying to update to 2.4.3 via localhost, but it's not going well. Rob |

half an hour later I still can't get it to install properly. The module version numbers are correct, but how can I be sure that the db procedures has/have been updated? |

| if the version number is correct then you can take a rest, UVG is already installed. |

can't find server? it seems to be a connection issue, not a timeout error. if you give me your host account I'll try to install it for you. thanks. |

For a long, long time I have the same problem, and of course now I can't upgrade UVG. I'm getting this:

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.1433; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.1433
And then, on the list nnly the first UVG module is 244, others are 200 :(
Do you know what is this DNN bug and is it described in details somewhere? And - do You know how the bug can be repaired/overrided ?
And one more thing - not all module upgrades causing that problem (but now I can't remember which was ok). Additionaly I can say, that all new modules are always are instaled properly. Only upgrades in most cases are wrong.
Please giv us any directions how to reslove it.
Thanks and best regards!

yes, I'm sure it's a dnn bug, the erro occured when DNN try to clear a cache then cause a deadlock, I remember I saw this bug report on DNN site but currently I can't find it. after a successful upgrade, only UVG_AddVideo have 2.4.4 version number, others are still 2.0.0, so now you can go ahead to use it if you don't get any problem with it. |

UVG_AddVideo - 02.04.04 UVG_CategoryList - 02.00.00 UVG_Configurations - 02.00.00 UVG_FirstRun - 01.00.00 UVG_LatestVideos - 02.00.00 UVG_MyVideos - 02.00.00 UVG_PendingVideos - 02.00.00 UVG_PopularVideos - 02.00.00 UVG_SearchInput - 02.00.00 UVG_TagList - 02.00.00 UVG_UserVideos - 02.00.00 UVG_VideoList - 02.00.00 UVG_VideoPlayer - 02.00.00 UVG_VideoSpotLight - 02.00.00 |

Hello, I bought UVG 3 Professional Edition yesterday and am having the same problem. I can only install UVG_ActiveUsers and UVG_AddVideo. I am on DNN 04.08.02. According to the specifications on Snowcovered, UVG 3 has "DNN Version Compatibility 4.5.x, 4.6.x, 4.7.x, 4.8.x, 4.9.x, ***5.0.x***" My server uses medium trust. What is the solution? How do I go about getting this installed? Thanks! == Server Error in '/DNN' Application. Thread was being aborted. I remember it's a bug of DNN core. try to restart your website and install the module immediately after restart. if you still have trouble with this, send me your host password so I can install it for you. |

yes, I tried to install it twice, with no luck. this is a bug of DNN 4.8.x. there are 3 solutions: 1, to register UVG mdoules manually, but very complicated. 2, to upgrade DNN to 4.9. 3, to modify DNN core. since to upgrade is the simlest solution, I suggested you to do it in this way. |
