I just purchased UMG 5.5 and I have set it it to be in Normal Gallery Mode with the Allow private child album creation checked. As a registered user I can log into the website and create and delete albums easily. Here is the problem I am having; 1. I log in as a registered user. 2. I create an album. 3. I try to upload a photo to that album and I get the following error; "You Do Not Have Sufficient Permission To Write To Folder UltraPhotoGallery/718/24/large/. Please Contact Your Hosting Provider To Ensure The Appropriate Security Settings Have Been Enabled On The Server." 4. I then have to log in as host, go to host settings, and restart the application. 5. After I restart DNN, I can then log in as the user that created the album and upload photos to it without an issue. Every time a user creates an album, they do not have rights to upload photos to it till I restart DNN. Is there a way to fix this from my end? I am running DNN 5.01 on Windows 2003 with SQL Server 2005 Enterprise in the background. Thanks, Adam |

I tested it in DNN 501 and it seems to be working fine. There WAS such a problem when you use a prior version of UMG 5, but you should not get this problem if you use UMG 5.5. |

I appreciate you getting back to me. I am still getting this problem with UMG. To be sure that our environments match or are close I am listing out the versions I am running in their entirety. DNN = 05.01.00 (773) Very latest community edition, sometimes listed as 5.1 not 5.01 .NET Framework = 3.5 ASP.NET Identity = NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE OS Version = Windows 2003 with SP2 DB = MS SQL Server 2005 Enterprise with SP3 Ultra Media Gallery 05.05.01 also listed as 5.5.1 So, basically I am running all the latest versions. What was the fix in prior versions on UMG and can it possibly work in this situation? I would really like to get this fixed as soon as possible to allow my registered users the ability to create and manage their own shared albums. Please let me know where I can go to from here. Thanks, Adam |

Upon testing I actually get 2 different errors, depending on bulk vs. single file, when trying to upload photos to a new private child album from a registered user. If I try to upload a bulk Zip file I get the error; "You Do Not Have Sufficient Permission To Write To Folder UltraPhotoGallery/718/72/large/. Please Contact Your Hosting Provider To Ensure The Appropriate Security Settings Have Been Enabled On The Server." If I try to upload a single image I get the error; "File upload error, please ensure the extension of your uploaded file is allowed and your website doesn't reach max disk space limitation." However, restarting DNN makes all these errors go away. But I can not restart DNN every time a registered user wants to create an Album. I hope this additional information helps you to help me fix this issue. I have also never owned a prior version of UMG. 5.5.1 is my first version. Thanks, Adam |

ok, so your DNN is DNN 5.1, I thought you are using 5.0.1. it's proved to be a new compatiliby issue with DNN 5,1, the latest UMG 5.5.2 on snowcovered fixed this problem. |

I appreciate you getting back to me.
Posted By Pengtsen R on 07/05/2009 9:15 AM ok, so your DNN is DNN 5.1, I thought you are using 5.0.1.
No, I said I was running 5.01 which is technically correct depending on where you look. If I look in host settings it states 05.01.00 (773) i.e. 5.01. If I look in the DashBoard it says 5.1.0. Regardless of the labeling it is 5.1, the latest Community Edition.
Posted By Pengtsen R on 07/05/2009 9:15 AM it's proved to be a new compatiliby issue with DNN 5,1, the latest UMG 5.5.2 on snowcovered fixed this problem.
I downloaded the new 5.5.2 from snowcovered, I noticed it was added there just today, and I installed it. I tried it out and got the exact same errors. I then restarted DNN and even went as far as to reboot the DB and Web server and also clear my browser cache. I tried to upload a Zip and a single image in both Firefox and IE but I got the exact same error. When I installed the new 5.5.2 I did not uninstall 5.5.1. Instead I installed 5.5.2 over it. I verified that I am indeed running 5.5.2. Where do we go from here? - Adam |

the version you have should work for single photos, however after further test I found it won't work when you upload zip. I just put an update on snowcovered which should work for zip files too. |

please manually copy all dlls in the PA to your site /bin folder. if you still have trouble with it, you may need to give me your user account and pass, and ftp access so I can check it. you also can make a backup of your website so I can check it on my local computer. |

I just manually copied in the DLL's into the bin folder and overwrote the UMG dll's in that directory. I am still getting the errors as described above. The DLL version for BizModules.UltraPhotoGallery.dll that I am running is 5.5.2.19505. Does this version coincide with your version information? - Adam |

I can package up the website and send it to you but it will be a few days. I have some sensitive information on the site that I need to remove from the database before I send it to you. So I will back up the DB, clear the site of all sensitive info, change passwords, delete accounts, etc... and send you a bare-bones site. Then do a restore after you have a bare-bones copy. It will take a few days to do this though. Do I send it to the rongers address in your profile? - Adam |

I have created a sandbox version of my site stripped of all content and DB cleaned. I was still able to duplicate the error with the stripped site. But I have discovered something when I was testing my stripped down site. I have 2 portals on the website. I have a main portal and sub-portal off of the main portal. I.e. I have http://www.<MainPortal>.com as a main portal and http://www.<MainPortal>.com/<SubPortal>/ as a sub-portal When I place UMG on the main portal it works perfectly. No errors and I can not duplicate my original errors. However, when I place UMG on the sub-portal I get the error every time and I have to reboot DNN to clear the error. Unfortunately the sub-portal is the place that UMG will be used primarily. This might help you identify the bug or problem. If you still want a copy of my stripped down site please send me a private email and I will give you instructions on where you can download the site. I do not want to advertise this information on a public forum. Let me know what you want to do. Thanks, Adam |

Awesome work! I downloaded it and tried it out and that permission problem is gone! I really appreciate the time, patience, speed of resolution and the professionalism that you showed to get this issue resolved. The only other issue I am having at this time is not as critical as the last issue, has to do with the alignment of the photo thumbnails in manage photos when viewed in Firefox 3.0.11. It seems that the thumbnails are skewed one photo below the thumbnail label. In other words they are misaligned. I have not searched these forums yet to find a solution to this issue, might just be a CSS directive. Thanks again! Adam |

Definitely. I took a screen shot of the images being skewed in Firefox. This does not happen in IE. This makes for very odd reorganizing via drag and drop, you never really know which image you are grabbing. Here is a link to the screen shot of the issue. http://i819.photobucket.com/albums/zz112/lisp128/SkewedImages.jpg Thanks again! Adam |

No I did not. I am not sure what the difference is between the 2, unless it has to do with the version of DNN and/or the version of UMG might be different between your site and my site? |
