Hi,
Got the new presentation pack - wanted to use the Shadow Viewer to show .fla movies. I am able to upload .fla to my site but the presentation won't let me select the directory in dynamic. I also tried standard and it won't let me upload the .fla.

Any help would be appreciated.
Pat

what's .fla? this is the extension of flash source file, it's not a media file type.

Hey Pengtsen,

On your website it says:

Shadow Viewer
This is the newest and most powerful presentation in Generic Presentation Pack, Shadow Viewer support multiple albums, nested albums, flv video playback, and flash movie(.swf).

And when setting up a new slide show it says:

ShadowViewer
This presentation can be used as another major gallery viewer like UMG Classic, nested albums and flv videos are supported

I have tried using .swf, .flv and .fla but I get the same result with all file types.

How do I get the Shadow Viewer to show flash movies? Do I have to upload the original video file and it will convert it - like UMG?

I would like to use it to show a series of short flash movies in a slideshow presentation. I asked you about this as a feature last February and I was so excited when I saw that you had added this feature and now I can't figure out how to use it!

I'm sure it is something simple that I am missing.

Thanks,
Pat

flash movie(.swf) is supported, but not .fla.

to use a .swf in shadowviewer, please first upload it to somewhere on your website, and enter the url in the "Link" filed of a photo, then go to Appereance settings and enable "Play linked swf".

thanks.

Hey Pengtsen,

All was working perfectly in my mind - I thought I understood the problem. However, when I went to make the changes I realized (from reading the forum) that I hadn't upgraded to 5.3+ so that I would have an issue with ShadowViewer throwing an exception when trying to use appearance.

So I downloaded the 5.4 version and have been trying to install it and I am getting the following exception and after several attepts and re-downloading and re-strarting the host I figured that I better ask the expert:

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

I remember it's a DNN bug, what's the version number now? if it is 5.4 maybe it is already succeeded.

Hey Pengtsen,
Yes...it was already updated. It is working now but it doesn't fit the .swf to the stage...is this supported?
Thanks,
Pat
