This is a great module I love using. Than you.
We ae in the process of adapting it for our user to be able to create Vision boards and as such the module would need some tweaking. Vision boards combine sound and slides at a fairly high past. The slide are comprised of a succession of pictures and powerful statements... If you want to see an example of what I am talking about go here (http://www.therocketship.org/vizangelist.html).
Right now we are producing these using PictureToMovie and generating video that are then uploaded to UVG, but this is combersom to the non technical user and require many steps. UMG would allow the user to edit the vision on the fly and is allready providing most of the functionality we need.
1 - Slide speed control: It would be great if it could be set/over ride at the album level. Right now default speed is set at the gallery level and the user has the option to adjust the speed while viewing the slide show. SInce in a vision board you sinchronize the sound and slide, you want to hide the speed control from the viewer and set it at the album level.
2 - Have the option at the album level to have the slide show stop on a black screen/or the last slide (which can be black) instead of going back to the gallery. Maybe I missed a setting on that one.
3 - Auto Fade out the sound after the last slide. Right now the sound is abrubtly interupted. This is linked to the previous one.
4 - Give the album owner the option to select slide transition.
5 - Add these visiual effects to individual slide: a - Zoom in b - zoom out c - Slide left to right d - Slide right to left e - Slide upward f - slide downward g - slide 45 degree (all 4 direction) h - combine sliding and zooming This would be (I think) a significant change in your module, but would result in a very versatile image gallery. This effect would not be transitions but would stretch through the dispaly of the slide.
6 - Add slide transition effects like fade-in short, fade-in long...
7 - Add the ability for a slide to completly overlap the next one (this is important for the text slide to blend with the pictures).
We are working at developing a user freindly way for the user to create the powerful statement slides right there from the web interface and to automatically place them in the slide show.
If you are not interested in building this as part of your distribution product, would you be open to do this on a contract for hire agreement? We could aslo use the source and take on the task ourselves but you have the expertise of the product...

Some settings are on gallery level, somes are on album level, this is by design. So your 1st and 4th point is to move some settings to album level, currently I don't get this kind of suggestions before so I think I won't do it in public version. about the 2nd and 3th point, you can configure UMG so it stops and the end of the gallery. abouth the 5th and 6th point, currently there are 7 or 8 type of transitions, this is enough in most case, don't you think so? I still believe providing so much types of transitions and most of them makes no great different is a less-professional way. about the last point, are you talking about a powerpoint effect? moving to next slide appends some text or small pictures over the previous one? |

Thank you for your reply. You are so good a keeping on top of the posts! The visula effect I mentioned on point 7 can be clearly seen on the sample link I specified above or in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cl2H1vl_2js&feature=related). You see the slide are going from one to the other without going to black. This is very important to keep the energy in the presentation. Timing between slides should be set at the presentation level as each slide should come up at the same rhythm, like an hypnotic pulse. Point 5 are visual effects on the slides, not transitions. Basically it give a motion to the slide. Finaly could you addressing my question on the possiblity of you doing the changes as part of side contract? Thank you for your dedication, Fabrice |

| Fabrice, the link you refered is a video, so it seems you want to use UMG to build a video-effected gallery? I think maybe a better solution is to procude such a video with desktop softwares and server it in UVG? |

Yes, what I sent you to is a video, but if you notice it's a video made of a slides. We are right now doing what you are suggesting but it is too technically involved for our membership. My intention is to remove steps into producing what is in effect a slide show on steroid. The proposed changes would give me the following advantages over the using UVG: 1- No need for the user to have and learn video editing tool 2- Slide show could be change "live" by the user withouth having to modify it on the desktop and the uploading the video. 3- My user base understand photo manipulation and slide show, they are not familiar with movie 4- My users have access to photo more than video clips That's why I think UMG is more adapted. I am aware that UMG will only give an approximation to what can be done with UVG, but this is a price that we have to pay. By the way the final implementation of the project will give the user the ability to choose to use a video (loading UVG) or a slide show (loading UMG). Would you be able to help us? If no, do you know anyone that would be able to help us? Thank you, |

Fabrice, if you like I can develop a new presentation for you named "VisionBoard", which have similiar output as the sample video, but please note the investment is huge because I don't think this presentation can be done is less than a week. If you are interested please contact rongers@hotmail.com, cc to service@bizmodules.net. thanks. |
