1) Is it possible to nest albums within each other?
2) Is it possible to add video files to the gallery?
I have just purchased the module, and so far its seems really great, congrats! |

The "nested albums" feature is not supported, and the video files are not supported in current version too. If I decide to support video files in the gallery in the future, the video files should be in FLV format only , because flash support video files in FLV format only.

First of all, thanks a lot for your quick reply.
You've been very clear regarding the video feature, but I haven't understood whether you find the "nested albums" option useful and something you might add in the future.
I have purchased this wonderful module (seriously, the best DNN module I have seen so far) with the intention of organising many albums ... so having them split up in sub-folders/albums is extremely important. Is there perhaps some other practice that you would suggest? I was thinking of creating different DNN pages and adding to them new galleries, but then again how would it affect future features such as top photos or statistics?
What do you think that I should do?

I have to say I'm not exactly sure what do you mean by splited albums. could you please explain it in more detail ?

What I mean is that I have more than 100 albums, and it would be better to sort them in subfolders. For example, first I would like to have the list of cities, then when I enter a specific city I get the list of clubs in the city, and then when clicking on a specific club, I get the various albums from different events.
What is your suggestion? Do you plan on having a subalbum feature in the future?

Ok, I got it now.
I don't whether I will include this feature in future versions. It depends on how many times this feature is requested. If I found it is frequently required , I'll support this feature in UPG 3.x.

Hello
Just wanted to add that the first thing I tried to do was create a Nested Album - this is important to me although I get around it by making more top-level gallery pages.
Secondly - the ability to store any file/multimedia (not just .flv files) is VERY important to a lot of people I would imaging - bear in mind that the module does not actually have to play the file - only store it.
Hence if I wanted to have a list of my favourite MP3s or my snowboarding videos I do not want to have to convert them to .flv (if it is even possible) - but you could open the .mpeg file in a new window and play it with something else (or leave it to Firefox to play?)
I'm sure this is a feature that would greatly increase the value of the product.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll take further consideration whether to support nested albums in the next version.
However, the 2nd feature request is great too, if I decide to support it, I have to change the name of my module to "Ultra Media Gallery".
