Hello,
Firstly, i am a new user of the UMG and i love it so far. great job on this and i look forward to using it more in the future.

I do have a few feature requests which i think will make getting started with your product a bit less time consuming.

Basically, i think many people similar to me will have their media stored in a heirarchical folder structure. For me the folder structure is based on events and their dates. So for example i have a folder named "Family" with a subfolder containg all family events like "2007 02 10 Christmas party". This folder structure directly exhibits how i want my albums to be created and nested - mirroring the folder structure on the physical filesystem exactly.

The specific request for you would be to add the ability to 'auto generate' albums by either reading a zip file's folder structure or more preferably by adding the ability to auto create albums when synching based on the physical folder structure.

Even more specifically, i would personally like to have the abilitiy for the sync to read the folder name, nest it as appropriate, name the new album the same as the folder name, and add all media in the folder to the album. Security and other settings should also be copied from the parent album.

I hope this makes sense and please let me know if i can provide more information and if you think this feature is a possibility for future releases.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

I really appreciate your suggestions, I think this must be very cool, I recorded them and I'm looking forward to include them in next or next-next release.

Thanks.

Hi Pengsten

I would like to add to this suggestion. It would be very nice in the add a photo section that if the user points to a zip file on their local machine (instead of on the website server), have all images in that zip file automatically added to the album.

well, adding multiple pictures from a zip file is already supported, even in version 2.

the feature suggested by Matt, to generate a folder from a server directory is also supported in UMG 4.

thanks.

Hi Pengsten

Just thought of another thing. If the ability to upload a zip file and automatically unzip and insert the photos into a gallery were added to the Bulk Importer that would be great.

It would also be nice to upload an entire folder from the local machine and not just form the portal.

Thanks
