Hi,
i purchased upg about 2 months ago (2.5.6) and have not been able to use it commercially yet.  My biggest problem is the photo orientation.

We have 1000's of photo's (wedding photography).  On average 50% of these are portrait.  This means that 50% of my photo's are not the correct orientation (they appear sideways by default).

The users have the option to change the orientation so that they can be view correctly.... BUT, this is not permanent.  Every time the user re-visits that same photo, its orientation is back to the default.

I dont know how anyone can live with this.  It it totally ridiculous to have to do this every time for every user for every photo.  Just put yourself in the position of the user for just 1 second and you will know that i am right.

Youy have previously mentioned that this will be included in a future release but i have not yet heard anything.

Do you have a date when a fix will be made.  If not, i will have to look at other photo modules.  Sorry, but this product promised so much but delivered so little!!.

Also,
i noticed that upg has problems woth DNN 4.3.1 and that you published a fix.  I have downloaded this patch but how do I apply it?.  Do i put the new dll into the old zip file?.  Where are the instructions?

This is a very disappointing product.  Not really for professionals who deal with photography... Its more for amateur home users.

I can fully understand your mood at this moment. you purchased this product and find some trouble when use it. but I didn't agree with you on some issue.

Yes, currently your visitor have to rotate a picture every time, but it is not a bug, this module is designed in this way, generally it is suggested to upload photos in correct orientation and the rotate button is just used to privide a different view for the visitor.

And you said "this product promised so much but delivered so little", I did't agree with you on this point too : ), I don't think I have promised anything and didn't deliver it, every promise I made are delivered (maybe the only exception is the release date of UPG 2.5 was delayed?). this is the first time I hear about that. you know, I care on customer satisfication very much, I've been trying my best to make my customer satisfied.

Now let's back to your problem. actually I do get some feature requirements about the ability to rotate a photo and I have told the requestor this feature will be included in UPG 3.0. currently I'm working on this version, I have implemented flickr integrate feature, sub album feature. and some other features, I think I'll be working on the rotation feature only some days later.

And, If you have told me your problem before (I can't remember whether you have talked with me about it, but I never know you are in such a deep trouble), I think we could solve it in many ways. even developing a free tool for you to rotate bulk photos is ok!

Thanks, please let know if you are in trouble in the feature.
