Hello
I added the Top Photos module to a page (see www.dumbTV.com) and I want to set the caching, name etc.
When I click on the normal DNN Settings, it comes up with a blank page.
I can only edit the actual Module Settings (specific to Top Photo), but
not the core module settings (container, caching, name etc).

Sure - basically a module container has the standard Settings link - which takes you to the default, base module settings page (with the option to change the Container name, set caching. set permissions etc.)
For some reason, when I click on Settings of your Top Photo module (you can see it on my homepage - www.dumbTV.com) it just goes to a blank screen. However your custom link to TP Settings works fine.
I need to set caching and change the name, and I could do this through the database, but I'm just wondering why it doesn't work.
To confirm - the other modules on the page do work (I can get to their base settings pages) but not the TP one...
To test it on yours, try to change the Container Name of the Top PHotos module on your site and see if you can get to the Settings page (mine is just blank)

I think the reason is the I used "Settings" as the control key for the TopPhotos Settings page. whic conflicts with the standard setting control.
I'll release a fix later.
Thanks. |

Yes, that does sound like the problem - I'm sure I can hack the module defs in the meantime...

This fix is firstly included in Ultra Photo Gallery 2.5.4, I sent a newsletter about how to fix it, you have to manually delete a control with the key of "Settings" in Module Definition for Top Photos module and Top Comments module.
Thanks. |

Maybe your mail server identified my newsletter as junk mail.
I'd like to post it here:
- Nivagate to Host - Module Definitions
- Click the pencil button before BizModules - TopPhotos module.
- There is a control with the key of "Settings" , please find it and click the pencil button before it.
- Delete it
- Repeate 2-5 on BizModules - TopComments module.
Thanks. |
