Hallo all,

I am struggling with a big performance issue! When running UMG in classic mode my CPU gets up to 100% and all the portals get a verry verry bet responce.

Some digging learnd that changing a foto the sql sp getTapPermissionsByPortalId is executed.

So when starting two browsers running UMG in classic mode my CPU is 100% (two dual core processors 3.2 GHz),

Stopping the two browsers, the cpu load fals down immediatly to ~3-5%

Can anybody confirm this is a problem??

I think it is not caused by UMG, you can search "GetTabPermissionsByPortal" on google to see there are a lot of reports of this problem. it seems to be a DNN bug and it seems upgrading to latest version should fix your problem.

thanks.

Hallo, I upgraded my testserver to the latest dnn version and the problem is exactly the same.

Please do a quick performace test (start performance monitor and a few UMG foto displays) see if the problem is related to me or is it a problem witch exists in all dnn/umg installations.

Greetings Mudito

UMG have be deployed on 2000+ websites, if there is such a bug then our support forum will be full of this.

Can you try to do a fresh installation of your DNN?

Hallo,

I found the setting "Enable Rating" is the root of the problem. Switching it off and anything is as it should be. Switching it on and the CPU load is ~90 to 100%

when enable rating is enabled, Comment.aspx in UMG folder is enabled, this file is used to read and store photo rating and comment data. the login of this file is very simple, you can require the source code from us to take a look.

now I suggest you to do a fresh DNN installtion and try again.

thanks.
