I just installed UVG 3 on a server running DotNetNuke 5.5 on Windows 2008 x64 with .NET 3.5 SP1. Installation seemed to work fine, and I uploaded the binary pack as instructed.

I added the UVG_Configurations module to a page and started going through the wizard. The first screen appears to be fine, but when I click Next, I get an error. I tried restarting IIS, but it made no difference. This error appears to be related to Brettle.Web.NeatUpload.dll.

I figured out that the problem is related to use of the iFinity Url Master module (Url rewriter). For some reason, the NeatUpload reference doesn't work with Url Master. When I switch back to the standard DNN Friendly Url provider, I cease having these issues. Any suggestions?

I found the following post that helped resolve the issue for me:

Okay - After working with it more, I found that my problem is not resolved. When I have Url Master enabled, NeatUpload throws errors on every page postback. I've been forced to do either of the following:

(1) Remove all references to the NeatUpload component that comes with UVG, or
(2) Disable Url Master and go back to the default DNN Friendly Url provider.

Both of these options are disappointing because I paid for both modules, and I'm forced to either run with UVG crippled or throw away Url Master. I realize that UVG still "works" without the upload module, but it's not a good user experience and it can't handle large files well. Most of my users are on Mac, so the client-side UVG Converter app won't work for them.

I've discussed the issue at length with the author of Url Master and he is out of ideas. See our discussion at http://www.ifinity.com.au/Products/Support_Forums/forumid/8/postid/5113/scope/posts#5113 including sample error messages.

Pengtsen - Please, please, please consider removing the NeatUpload component in favor of the Telerik Upload. The upload component from Telerik is already included with newer versions of DNN. It is presently used in the Telerik HTML editor file upload, and it has no problems with Url Master. It's also a much nicer component overall compared to NeatUpload.

If you don't have time to implement Telerik Upload for UVG 4, perhaps I could contribute my development time in exchange for an upgrade to the source code version. Please let me know what suggestions you have. Thank you.

Simply moving Neatupload to the top of httpModules should solve this issue, isn't it?

We'll consider to use telerik upload instead in the future, but not at this time. because UVG is desinged to be compatible in any DNN 4.5.x websites.
