We need to shorten the path URL absolutely as short as possible; from
http://www.hipponexus.com/DesktopModules/UltraVideoGallery/UltraVideoGallery.swf?vId=2&portalId=0

removing all of this:
DesktopModules/UltraVideoGallery/UltraVideoGallery

and getting it down to something like this:
http://www.hipponexus.com/uvg.swf?vId=2&portalId=0

How can that be done - or how much will it cost for you to do it for us in a custom module? Moving the folders, etc. isn't a problem.

this url is presented in UVG_VideoInformation module, right?

so you can copy UltraVideoGallery.swf to your root folder and rename it to uvg.swf, then modify the display template of UVG_VideoInformation so it use uvg.swf.

I find only 2 references to the 'ultravideogallery.swf' and those are in the videoplayer.ascx file.

<param name='movie' value='<%=ModulePath%>UltraVideoGallery.swf' />

var fObj = new FlashObject('<%=ModulePath%>UltraVideoGallery.swf', 'UVG', '<%=GalleryWidth%>', '<%=GalleryHeight%>', 8, '');

------------------------------------------------------
And I find 1 reference to 'UVG_VideoInformation' in the UltraVideoGallery.dnn.config file

<module>
<
friendlyname>UVG_VideoInformationfriendlyname>
<
controls><control>
<
src>DesktopModules/UltraVideoGallery/VideoInformation.ascxsrc>
<
type>Viewtype>control>
more...

--------------------------------------------------

Am I missing something about modifying the module path?

forget about the .config file, it's irrlevent.
did you copy uvg.swf to your root folder? if so just make these changes:

[PARAM name="movie" value="http://yourdomain.com/uvg.swf" /]
var fObj = new FlashObject('http://yourdomain.com/uvg.swf', 'UVG', '<%=GalleryWidth%>', '<%=GalleryHeight%>', 8, '');

The original player still plays, but the URL path isn't changed in the 'video infomation' module, and if I force the url, then I get a full browser, huge player, and it doesn't play.

(browser address)
http://www.hipponexus.com/Libraries/VIDEOGALLERY/VideoConfiguration/VideoPlayer/tabid/96/VideoId/67/Greg-Hohensee-WyEast-Enterprise-Facilitator-Part-1.aspx

(video info URL)
http://www.hipponexus.com/DesktopModules/UltraVideoGallery/UltraVideoGallery.swf?vId=67&portalId=0

(desired short path)
http://www.hipponexus.com/uvg.swf?cId=67&portalId=0

I just realized there isn't a [VIDEOID] token, so it seems this can't be done in current version.

thanks.

Is there a solution or a date for this you can imagine? I've got people moaning that the link breaks when they send it via email because it's too long.

Fingers crossed.

If there is an important fix or enhancment we will send an newsletter, otherwise you will just put it on snowcovered My downloads page.

anywhy, if you find the version number of PA you downloaded from snowcovered is 2.4.3+, then the fix must be included.

Now I'm confused.

The downloaded zip I installed from is named:  UVG_242_DNN4.zip

When I login to the DNN site, look at module versions, I see this:

UVG_AddVideo               - version -  02.04.02
UVG_(everything else)   - version -  02.00.00

The Snowcovered Patchlist shows UVG_2.3 has a download patch named UVG_2.2.2.zip

Which version do I actually have?  If it's 2.4.2, then the answer to your previous note is that I don't have 2.4.3+ with the fix. Where is this available?

ok, forget about it, I just uploaded it to snowcovered, you can check it in My Downloads page, the file name should be UVG 243.zip.

thanks.
