Hi there,
I've had this module installed all the way since version 1 but surprisingly have only now finally set it up on a page. I've got a few questions about it.
I'm using UVG 241 on DNN 484 on a proper VPS.
I've added the basic modules to various pages and have run through the configuration wizard. That ran fine and it reported all the right permissions and trust. The onyl thigns was that I didn't see the sample video image. So I clicked "I can't see it", then it reloaded something and I did see it, so I clicked "yes I can".
Now for some questions.
1. When I got to the part about upload file size, I entered 102400 as suggested on the page (and I think 100Mb should be fine). I read the information but it is not clear about whether I need to modify the web.config or not.
I checked the web.config and I can see the NeatUpload section in httpmodules, but it has no size attribute. It just says
Is that correct or do I have to do something else to ensure that 100mb files will upload?
2. I noted the information in the wizard about neatupload, and I downloaded the archive that it linked to. It is not clear whether I need to do anything with the file, and if so, what?
3. I uploaded the hello world flv and then I uploaded a very short wmv file I had onhand. Both uploaded fine and they show in the list with title images created by the module. However, neither of them will play in the player. There are no errors or anything.. just no video or sound. The progress bar doesn't move either.
I then downloaded the two files by ftp to see if they played locally and they did. Then I tried embedding a Youtube video and that did play, but of course that video is not actually on my server. So it looks as if my server isn't playing the files.
Thanks for any assistance with these queries Rob

1, no, UVG will update web.config for you. 2, you can ignore the link, I put it there just for the license issue, actually you don't need it. 3, did you select "I can't see it" in configuration wizard? |

Yes, exactly like i said in the post. I first clicked "I can't see it", then the site did something and then I could see it. It made a noise and displayed a picture of flames or something. I'll try going through the configuration again and see if that helps. |

Running through it now: The first page says: ASP.NET Trust Level: Unrestricted Successfully passed permission check, now you can upload videos in any format. Next Page: Web.config has already been updated to be compatible with Ultra Video Gallery. Next page: On first load I cannot see any sample, so I click "I can't see it". Then after a second or two I can see it, so I think I should click "I can see it"? hmmm.. is this where it went wrong? Am I supposed to click that I can see it or should I simply ignore that and click Next Step? I'm going to click next, because the previous time i clicked the "Can see it" button. I also found the next step a little confusing. It has pre-selected some file types. If I choose some more, do I have to manually add them to the Host settings. It only says that unspecified 'other' formats and NCD need to be added. What about the ones in the list on the right of the page. I think I'll select and copy all of them out so that I can compare them with the host settings. Next step: I leave the setting at 102400 Click Finish. (This time it changes quickly to the final screen. When I did this the first time, it took a long time to load this. I assumed it was rebuilding/restarting or something.) I've checked the host settings and it looks as if the module has added the desired file-types by itself, so I'll leave that alone. And now when I go to the player, it works... great stuff :) Rob |

The first time through the wizard it made perfect sense to click "I can see it" after the module did something and I saw the clip. But now I think I was supposed to ignore the can/can't see buttons and simply click next.. is that correct? If that's what caused this then maybe that part of the wizard could be changed a little. If that wasn't it then I don't know why it went wrong the first time. |

let's make it sample, you just need to click "I can't see it" and goto next step. that's all. the file type you selected will be added to hosting settings by UVG automatically. |
