I have seen a couple of forum posts on this but I have not been able to solve the screen capture issue. I am uploading flv files and have tried several differerent videos with no luck. When I enter a time and hit the capture button I can see my browser status as "waiting on stymies.net" "transfering data" then "done" but nothing shows up in the capture screen of inthe thumbnail for the video. If I go back to my video listings page there is no thumbnail.

UVG Module v02.04.01
IE 7.0
Firefox 2.0.0.14
DotNetNuke 04.08.00
Hosted through GoDaddy
Domain: www.stymies.net

I could not find a file called uvg.txt anywhere on my site.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

GoDaddy doesn't support external process, so I belive you didn't pass the permission check in Configuration Wizard, please note you are not able to capture a screenshot if you didn't pass the permission check.

maybe you should use UVG Converter to add new videos.

I get the following when running permission check:

If the binary pack is not installed or it can't be reached, you get this message:

The binary pack is not installed, or ASPNET/Network_Service account don't have    necessary permissions to access it, you are not able to upload any non-flv videos now.

Can the binary pack be installed on GoDaddy?

Are you saying that the capture option will not work with GoDaddy or is there a way to make this work on GoDaddy's hosting plan?

I have tried the UVG Converter to upload a video to my site. I used a tag that was not on the site before and I see that the tag is now avaialble after the upload but I do not see the video anywhere on the site.

How can I use the UVG Converter to upload a video that is already in .flv format? I am unable to select a video already in this format to upload.

Thanks,
Tom

I don't know if you have already installed the binary pack, but you won't pass the permission check even you install it on godaddy servers.

maybe that video is unapproved? check the PendingVideos module please, if you still don't see it I guess you must uploaded it to the wrong portal, you should add "portalid=your portalid" in the website url box, I'll be glad to help you on this issue if you still have troubles with this.

to upload videos already in .flv format, please manually copy it to c:\program files\bizmodules.net\uvg converter\output, remember to capture a screenshot before upload.

thanks.

The video was unapproved! Oops, I was under the impression that if the admin uploaded the file it was automatically approved. Thank you.

I will also use your advice when uploading files already in . format.flv

So if I am understanding this thread correctly, there is no way to pass the permission check on a GoDaddy server even if I was able to get the binary pack installed, is that correct?

Does anyone have this working on GoDaddy's hosting plan?

Thanks for your help.

yes, because I know GoDaddy doesn't the permission to launch external process. so you don't need to install the binary pack.
