Both [PLAYURL] and [EMBEDCODE] don't work when the video is embedded. Do you think it's better to have separate display template for all the embed videos?

When I use embed code, I write the objects via javascript (swfobject, and others for WMP and quicktime) and then use a [noscript] block for users who dont have javascript enabled.

When I show the "embed code" to the user to post to myspace, the embed code I use wont work for them on myspace.

Could we make a 2 fields in the database for this?

One field is the "embed code" used by the dotnetnuke site which might include script.
One fileld is the "myspace embed code" displayed to the user for embeding in myspace, ect. (with no script)

2 fields will make your users confused.

like youtube, the embed code offered by UVG doesn't use script, it just use html object tag to ensure it works in all environments.

Bent, I just checked youtube and it do use html object tag to render flash object in embed code.

Bent, javascript is not alwasy reliable, sometimes it couldn't detect your flash version even flash is installed, in this case you may get an empty gallery - noscript block is not used because script is enabled, but it couldn't detect the flash version so it may not output the flash object(the most popular flash detection kit - swfobject performs like this).

and script it not enabled in some where, that is why UVG use plain html tag to render flash object.
