Related videos that are shown at the end of video play do not work when clicked, nor does the link in my watermark work when clicked when embeded on myspace. Somehow many of the flash apps (ie youtube, google) related videos at the end of video play do work on myspace. I assume they do it a different way, could you investigate.
I Embed 1 video on myspace, and 250 related videos come up, but in the end, the user can only play one video, instead of having access to all my videos.
youtube and other flash players have figured out how to do this I wonder how. |

I have created a test page here you may view. http://www.myspace.com/ultravideogallery It has 2 flash objects one UVG player, one Youtube Player. With the Youtube player I can watch lots of videos, with UVG player I can only watch the one. When you add objects onto myspace profiles, they have a filter/replace engine that "fixes" the flash object. If you look at the html source you see they add these tags to both UVG and YouTube objects. allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="internal" I did not have these tags when I posted these flash objects to my profile, they add this to every flash object added. I would guess other websites that allow users to embed flash onto pages do the same, for user "security". Thanks |

I copied the embed code on myspace to a dedicated html file and it works fine. even with the allowNetworking and allowScriptAccess tag. so now can you try to remove the youtube embed player? thanks. |

Thank you again for investigating. When I say "related videos" I mean the ones shown at the end of a movie in the flash player, not the ones in the "related videos module" on the webpage. I was not clear in describing the problem. The video PLAYS fine, but when the video is OVER/DONE/FINISHED the "related videos" start to show up. You can not play ANY of the related videos. When you click on them, the videos do not play, only the "onhover" color change happens. I investigated more, I took the output HTML of the myspace page and did like you did, saved it off as a local.html page to view locally. It did the same thing, it would play, but "related videos" didnt work. I removed the tags allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="internal" and the related videos started working again. When I clicked on one of the related videos it took me to that video's page on my site and played the video. I noticed this BIG DIFFERENCE in the way youtubes player and uvg's player work. IN YOUTUBE player: when you click a related video, it plays that video in THE SAME FLASH OBJECT, it does not redirect the browser to the new page, only updates the flash video FLV (and the next set of related videos). IN UVG player: when you click a related video, it redirects the browser to that page, a new flash object(player) is created and the FLV is loaded into that flash object(player) How hard would it be to make the UVG player just load the new FLV file when a user clicks a "related video" in the flash player, and not redirect the browser? This information should be available via the Vid.aspx page, no? |

The share button does not work either (of course) Only the replay button works, on myspace. |
