Hi, we're trying to migrate our portals to a webfarm environment (4 webservers), and we're having problems with the converter converting the videos on the fly. When I test on only a single webserver with the code local, everything works fine (i have permissions set to allow for launching external processes), so its definitely an issue with trying to utilize the share (most likely it looks from the event coordinator that its failing before(or while) trying to run the conversion itself). it writes the source file to the proper directory, but not the converted file.

We're running the appPool/website in IIS as a user other than aspnet or Network Service(per our security group), but this user is in the IIS_WPG security group.

Is there any way to configure UVG to point it to binaries on the local drive (I can put those somewhere local if I have to). Another thought (although we were unable to confirm), is that its trying to run the conversion process as an anonymous user (which the security policy is rejecting).

We're using UVG1.4 and DNN4.5.5

Any suggestions to try to make this work?

thks.

In default, UVG run the conversion process as Network Service, not an anonymous user.

I suggest you to downoad UVG 2.3 trial version on this website and install it, if you already activated UVG 1.4 you won't be required to activate UVG 2.3 again.

Then there is a uvg.txt in your site root once you create a new video, this file logs the command used to convert your videos, please check it to see if these command are properly finished.

thank you.

Hi, I've sent you (service@bizmodules.net) a few emails asking for an activation code (providing the original snowcovered invoice#) as I tried to install the 2.3 version, and its not letting me do anything now concerning uploading videos without this code.

Please help, this is the only thing holding up our launch (this is for our corporate intranet), as our business users do not have admin rights to their machines so using the stand-alone conversion app is not an option.

Once we get this issue resolved, we will continue to use our old version of UVG for now.

thanks,

Phil

Actually, changing the web.config parameter to

did the trick. We're now good to go.
