Hi,
  I am excited to see new feature like Email subscriptions in UVG.  I would like to have email subscriptions for user videos and categories. 

  If it is not planned in near future, is it possible for custom development for this particular feature?

currently it's not in the road map, if you want custom development you may need to email me exactly what you need.
