Howdy!!!
I have just purchased and installed UVG 2.0 on to DNN 04.08.00 and have a curious problem.
Using the Configuration module, I selected the page on which I installed the UVG player module. I added the demonstration video "Hello World", then went to my video lists page, and selected that video. Much to my surprise, the video player did not appear.
It would seem that when I selected the Hello World video in the Video Lists, the website going to the homepage rather than the player page.
What am I doing wrong? I have started from scratch a few times, and keep getting the same result.
Thanks,
Daz. |

Yes, the tab (or page) is labelled player, and the configuration points to it. I can click on the page and get the default video to play fine. But when I select a video that I have uploaded from video list, I get taken to the home page.
I have turned all the pages public so you can see. The URL is http://news.kaasos.com so you can see the configuration. The video section lives in the gallery section of the website. The photo gallery is Ultra Media Gallery.
I have probably missed something, and would appreciate it if you can help me.

Thanks! It would appear that that solved the problem for the username and password request.
Not sure why it didn't do that for me initially? It appears between me posting the message, and you looking at it, DNN worked itself out and linked the right page.
But all is working now, so thanks heaps for you help! |

I have a similar problem and have followed the suggestions in this post but I am still being redirected to the homepage of my site when I choose a video from my video list page. When I hover over any video, I notice the url is pointing toward a page with a tabid of 200, which was a page I deleted that had a video player on it when I first set up the module. I created a new video player page and placed a new module there but when I click the videos in the video list page, it continues to show a url with a tabid of 200. The new video player page has a tabid of 202. I believe since it is trying to access a url that is no longer available, it is kicking me over to the homepage. I have re-run the config wizard, emptied the recycle bin, recreated the video list page and made a new video admin page where I added the my video module, the add video module, and a new configuration module that has the player tab pointed to the right page.
Is this a caching problem and what can I do about it?
You can see the behaviour here.

it's 2.2.x, right? does the "video list" tab in UVG_Configurations set to your new player tag? |

Yse and yes. When I add a video and it gives me the choice to "click here to see your video" the url is pointing toward the right tabid of the page the player is on. When I click it, it takes me to the player. This works correctly. However, when I go to my video list page and hover over the newly added video thumbnail, it shows a url with a tabid of an old video player page that I deleted early on when I was setting up the module. When I click on the thumbnail, it redirects me to the homepage. I have PageBlaster running on my site but have turned off all caching and cleared the cache of my browser. I am going to completely disable PageBlaster to see if that has any effect.

Ok...this is officially driving me nuts now. I have been troubleshooting this problem for 2 days now. I have completely disabled PageBlaster, recreated all my pages, added the appropriate modules but the video list and the videos that show up in the My Videos module still are pointing to a tabid that no longer exist in my portal. Is there a way to go into the appropriate db table of the module to manually change this? I need help now!
Thanks,
Paul |

I uninstalled the module (Add Video) and reinstalled it and it fixed the issue.
Just in case anyone else has this issue, here is what I believe causes it:
Once you have a player module added to a tab and then you use the add video module to add a video, it links all videos to the player tabs tabid. So if you delete the player module and put it on a different page (tab) somewhere on your site, the add video module will still point the url to the old tab id which no longer has a player on it and dnn will kick the request for the bad url to the home page. The only way to unlink the behavior of the add video module to the player and list modules is to delete it. The ultra video help file makes reference to this link:
Sometimes you are not intended to uninstall this product completely, you just want to re-install it, so you uninstall it and plan to install it later. However, if you uninstall all sub modules in this product, it may take quite a long time. In this case, it is suggested to uninstall UVG_AddVideo only, because all database objects are linked with this module
|

I remember there is such a problem in UVG 2.1.x, and should be fixed in UVG 2.2. I did some test on my local test site, set the player tab to the 1st player tab in my site, browse a video, UVG properly redirect it to the 1st player tab, then I set it to the 2nd player tab, and it still works. If I get more reports about this issue I'll check it in more detail. thank you. |

no, I gave you an email reply saying that I can't find these 2 videos you reported, please check it. I guess maybe you set a "player tab" on video category? |
