Is there any way to make the description of the video is the desciption of the video page to enhance SEO?

UVG automatically added the video description to description field in page meta fields.

Well, I think it should be the other way around, since video description will help in the video SEO more than the main page description (which is general, and most likely it is not related to the video).

The page description is give on page level, if you don't need it you can simply remove it, then there will be video description only.

I belive it's too arbitrary to remove the page description (if there is) when add the video description.

Well, Everyone wants better ranking and video description is more related to the video page than the generl page description, at the same time if the video description is missing or short the page description will come handy. So both are needed but video description should be first.

Hmm, I still think it's not a good idea to remove page description.

If I do change it in this way you will be happy, but I belive I'll get compliants from more users :)

Ok, you are right that any change might get you complaints, but I am not trying to suggest something to my advantage, it is for everyone and to improve the module, let me present an example from one of the sample sites. Poker DIY
The title of the video is "kenny rogers the gambler" so the targeted keywords are ""kenny rogers and "the gambler"
If you search for the video on Bing you will find the following:

1- The title of the video is PokerDIY - Poker Video Player > Kenny Rogers - The ...
(cut off since the title tag is limited to about 50 Characters and in the current settings the title is not first and the keyword "the gambler" lost and the video rank got weak)
It should be
* kenny rogers the gambler | PokerDIY - Poker Video Player
2-The Description tag is "Manage your poker league online for free. Find poker players & poker games. Schedule poker events & record poker league results. Find poker groups to join & play in our freerolls ..."
(That is the page description and non of the targeted keywords are in the description tag and that make the video rank weaker)
It Should be
*Kenny Rogers, The Gambler is a music video with the song 'The Gambler' by Kenny Rogers
3-the page address have the title and that is good.

So one out of three, it will not compete with other websites that targeting the same keywords???

what I would suggest for you, is to leave everything the same and have an option in the video info page with three fields SEO Title, SEO Description, and SEO keywords and those who would like to custom write their video title, description, and keywords can fill those fields and it will overwrite the main module SEO Setting.

This is perfect sense and along lines of VSEO standards, since Google introduced the universal results in 06 to include videos in the serps the standards have been written. What he is describing would be a feature that would benefit the entire UVG community and allow us to tag our video assets correctly, not only for seo page ranking but for usability, for example if you rank an ambiguous description high, and a nearby description, below or above, is better written, the better written will get more clicks.
Your product is great and your support has always been the best among module developers, this feature would enable those of us trying to make a buck continue with your footprint, this a very critical feature request. I am writing a detailed report on this topic for a digital agency and will be happy to share some of my findings to support homoudea's request.

It is suggested that you make the "player" tab of UVG hidden, users should only enter this page by clicking a video in UVG_VideoList.

If you do set it up in this way, users won't be able to enter the player tab directly, so I think you can safely make the description field in the player tab blank, then only the description of video is presented in the meta fields. don't you think so?

I do not think this will work, how about someone who will upload a video with a small description or no description then the video rank will be very weak??
The common minimum number of charecters in page element for most search engine are: Title about 70 and Meta description about 160

I think there is two options here:
1- To have automatic SEO

*The title of the video will be first and the title of the page will be second
*The description of the video will be first and the description of the page second.
*The tage will be the video meta keyword.

2- To have it automatic and manual by adding new three fields called
*Title SEO
*Description SEO
*Keyword SEO

This manual option (the SEO fields) will overwrite the automatic option. (you can have this option hidden from users and available to admin only)

I agree that you module is great and the support is as great but SEO is weak at this point, and you can improve it by imlementing the requested feature. (that feature was suggested to other developers and was implemented on their modules and made a big difference)

YES, YES, YES.

For those of us that are trying to monetize our work, this is VERY IMPORTANT.

Our sites get first page rankings for the html page content, and the Ventrian Articles content, but not the UVG video content.

I'm all for any help with the seo of the videos

Totaly Agree!
I have the exact same problem.
UVG is really great but it's SEO is really bad currently! Please make some improvement. It's not something akward... it's just standard SEO techniques:
Video Title ( first three keywords in here maybe? ) - Category - Page Title - Web site Name

thanks!
