ok, so your UVG 3 is standard edition, right?
It's a known issue that the flv video content in UVG 3 doesn't have high quality, if you are not satisfied with the video quality in UVG 3 standard edition, you can upgrade to professional edition and use H264 instead, which offers much better video quality.

I do have the UVG Pro version... I have an option with my DNN host to add mime types. What do I need to add to improve the quality?
When I did the configuration there was something that didn't pass because of host not supporting a certain mime type. Could this be the issue? I can add it myself from the control panal.
What do I need to add?
Thanks,

Dave, you didn't pass the permission check because Network Service account doesn't have EXECUTE permission on the UVG binaries folder, not because of mime type.
now you need to manage to pass the permission check, then you can set UVG to encode videos to mp4 which will have much better quality.

I have contacted my host and they say I have executable permissions on all folders. They have ran a utility to confirm this.
I just uploaded an mpeg4 video but it is not playing. Here is a link:
http://www.myrtlebeachhomefinder.tv/CommunityVideos/TabId/74/VideoId/66/North-Myrtle-Beach-Middle-School.aspx
I noticed that the video images have much better quality but the video won't play.
Please Help,
-Dave

I'm sorry Pengtsen, I had it up in public view and I didn't want to leave it there because it wouldn't play. Now the mpeg4 video plays but the quality isnt any better than flash.
Could I get some step by step instructions for having videos be in their best quality?
Here is a link to the mpeg4 I just uploaded:
http://www.myrtlebeachhomefinder.tv/Rentals/15002000month/TabId/83/VideoId/73/WagonTest.aspx
The video under this one in the tab to the right of the player is the same video. It just has a differnt screen shot. Play it and compare the quality between them. It's night and day. I must be doing something wrong.
Please advise.
Thanks,
-Dave

I don't think the h264 version is working on your webite now, this url still returns a 404 page:
http://www.myrtlebeachhomefinder.tv/Portals/0/UltraVideoGallery/host/d7173716-be3e-4993-b661-1308f13bd0de.mp4
please ensure your IIS support "mp4" mime type.

I took that video down. Here is the URL of the new mp4 test.

It's playing, but the quality is no better.
Please Advise.

I have added the mp4 mime type through my Control Panal. Question is, did I do it right?
I added:
Extension - mp4
Content Type - video/mp4
Is this correct?
Thanks

I just looked at the demo video here on Bizmodules and it's about the same quality that I'm getting on my site. I should have taken the time to do this a long time ago.
Is there anything in the works for the next version of UVG?

No, it's not there anymore. It was there for two days. I didn't hear back from you and I don't like keeping it on the site. I will read up on bit rate settings and see where that leads.
Thanks for your help,
-Dave

IT'S FIXED!!!!! THANK YOU! I set the bitrate to "10" as opposed to "15" in the flv... I'm not even using mp4. This fixed it!
AWESOME!
I have another issue though.... now at the end of the video it doesn't display ratings or realated videos. What could be causing this?
