I had several embedded videos (using the URL of the source video) from YouTube that a couple of days ago played in my UVG. Today I cannot get a YouTube video to play. It grabs the screenshot from YouTube but when it comes time to play there is only black.

Has YouTube changed something that is keeping videos from playing in UVG? Is anybody else able to play YouTube videos this way?

Nope, I am having the same problem. Another posts describes a way to copy a file over but I have not heard on how to exactly do that.

we got report about this problem a few hours ago, now the fix is available, please download latest UVG 3.1.1 from Snowcovered My Downloads page.

for DNN 5.x users, you need to manually copy BizModules.UltraVideoGallery.dll in the PA to your /bin folder after upgrade.

well, the fix is for UVG 3 only, maybe you can consider to upgrade?

I am still using ver2 and adapting related video featured for series videos ...If you help me upgrade without wrecking my related video series then i would have no problem upgrade to V3 .
In the mean time can you send me a fix for V2 so i can get my youtube videos to work ?
Thanks

I'm sorry, but I access internet by my laptop now, I'll be in japan for a week. I can't do any development work during this time.

I don't see there is any difficulty for you to upgrade from v2 to v3, the related videos still works in UVG 3 after upgrade, but please note to carefully read the "upgrade guide" chapter in the user guide.

thanks.

Hi Pengtsen,

I currently have thousand of videos and so I can not risk wrecking them ! I will buy the Upgrade Version and do some further testing and will upgrade live when I think its safe to do so. In the mean time the safest solution would be for me to keep V2 and get Youtube videos to run again.... so can you send me a work around eg BizModules.UltraVideoGallery.dll ?? or a Fixed for V2?

I think it would be unfair that you only have a fix for V3.

I got mine working with the fix for V3 but I agree with glen win that there should be a fix for V2 or V3 should be given freely as an upgrade to fix this issue.

I don't have thousands of videos yet so if UVG is a module that may just stop working in the future unless I spend money to "upgrade" then I can afford to stop using the module and look for a better solution now.

Well that exactly the point - It not a matter of if but WHEN ! Anyone using UVG for a while would know that the Youtubes playback has always been a recurring problem. So a fix should be available as soon as possible - does not matter which UVG version.

....I have used UVG for 12 months now and from memory this is the 4th or 5th time that Youtube videos stop working . So i am sure it will happen again in the near future !

Hey this is bad advice! I have bought and install V3 upgrade and it has completely wrecked my video page and template !! Lucky I have backed up the site so I was able to re-install the back up.

I am going to spend sometime to do some work on V3 on another local test site . Untill then, PLEASE I need a fix for V2 asap !!!!

Hi there.

I have UVG 3 installed on my server and setup how i like it with you tube videos etc. Do i just download this patch and install the module via the Module Definitions under Host Menu of Nuke? will it erase any work i've added already?

I am using dnn v4.x thanks

==================
you can download it in Snowcovered My Downloads page. just install it to overwrite your current UVG version is ok.

we always suggest you to use youtube embed code to add youtube videos.

I'm still in japan with my laptop, which doesn't have a development environment, I'll create a fix for UVG 2 when I come back.

thanks.

I am also on UVG 2 (I will upgrade in a few months time when I have money to do so) so I needed the fix urgently too. The new patch seems to fix the problem.

What annoys me is that my videos have not worked for the last month. Users don't feedback and I don't keep checking this site. This happens every couple of months.

Pengtsen, can you not send out a Module Update notice when this happens so that we can ugprade? It damages my site terribly if I don't know about it. I consider this critical when all videos stop working!

Thanks
