Due to the fast moving content (cars on racetracks) I'd rather have faster framerates and lower quality vid for a given bandwidth - is there a way of achieving this? If need be I could write a batch file to convert my source HD WMV - I guess I'd call call mencoder, then ffmpeg followed by flvtool2? What options should I use?
Thanks
Nathan

| I am but the output isn't very good, the frame rate is too slow and the videos look rubbish even at high bitrates. |

in UVG_Configurations you can adjust the framerate. however, the default framerate should be enough, if you are not satisfied about the video quality, please increase video width, you can set it to the size of your video player. thanks. |

| I'm not using the online converter as my host doesn't allow execution of binaries, just the offline one. |

| the framerate is not available in UVG Converter, but as I said, the default framework is enough, you may need to increase the video width to get better quality. |

Any objections to me compiling my own version with changes to the GetFFMpeg_0_4_9_Command() and GetFFMpeg_r7945_Command() methods to allow a different frame rate? The video is jerky even at silly high bandwidth, the issue isn't with the quality but with the framerate and the fact it is such fast moving content. The quality of the actual image is good, just the movement is jerky. |

at first please try to encode your video by UVG(not UVG Converter) with your desired framerate, and ensures it procude better quality. then I can make a special build for you. thank you. |

Can I reuse my license to install the product on a test server at home? My internet facing host won't allow execution so I can't do it on my production site. Thanks |

Hello Finally got round to this! Yes, 25 frames per second makes a huge difference - the video is great now. Please provide an update to the conversion tool. Thanks for your help. Nathan |

That is what I meant - a new version of UVG Converter that allows me to change the framerate.
I you'd rather then just email me the source, I will make the changes and email it back to you.
Thanks

in UVG converter 3 I'll change it, so it use the default frame rate of your video, rather than a predefined specific value. thanks. |

When is that out? I currently have the video section of the site visible to admins only as I can't upload any videos at the moment due to the framerate being so bad. If you don't have time could you please email me the code for just UVG converter so I can make my own version to start using this section of my website? Thanks Nathan |

Any news on this yet? I can't use the gallery until I have a way of getting videos in the correct framerate up...
With the source code this would be 5 minutes work at the most...

oh, I'm sorry, I missed your reply. did you purchase the source version? if so I can send me the source of the conversion part in UVG 3. |

No, didn't buy the source code - don't really want to have to do any coding if I can help it!
I can obviously reflector the existing binaries to get the code but it'd be much nicer if you could release a new version, the only change required is a new control for framerate so about 5 minutes work.
As it stands I have some software that I've paid for that I can't use as the video looks rubbish.
Thanks
Nathan

| Wanted to add that in your post on 06/17/2008 6:16 AM you did mention making a special build, I would be so grateful if you could do that for me! |

no, in UVG 3, we removed the framerate option, so when you upload a new video, UVG use some tools to check the video to get the original framerate, and when encode it UVG use its original framerate. it's a complicated job. so maybe you can wait for UVG 3? |
