It will  be useful to be able to template the comments module as well. The same way you template the video list and video info.

We run a central profile on our site (smart-thinker) and it will be nice to be able to link the comment to the profile by userid. As a general rule of thumb if you are going to get "content" from your users you better reward them by linking to their profile:)

Also, the scrolling feature is not a great decision from a design perspective. I would rather not have a scrolling feature at all (usually comments are at the bottom of the video page so why have an extra scroll?). If the scrolling feature is to remain then at least there should be a module setting for the comments default hight - right now there is space for just about two comments.

Thanks.

Ivan

currently the comment list can't be templated, if you want to change it you should manully edit VideoComments.ascx, you also can remove the scrolling area if you like in this file.

But how do I make the display name to be a hyperlink to the comment author profile and include his profile pic next to the name (those link work off userid)? Where in the ascx file is this located and can it be done?

Thanks.

Ivan,

For DnnFusion's MyProfile with 404 redirect configured, I was able to create a hyperlink to the commentors profile. It worked but only if the user's display name was one word. for example; "displayname" worked but "display name"  did not work. Because of that, I have not implemented the hyperlink on my site.

This evening I will post how I did that. Perhaps someone can take a look at it and make it work for display names with more than one word.

I think this can be done, but a bit complicated.

at first please open Ajaxdotnet.ascx.resx, find Author.Text, change it to something like this:

[A href="/tabid/100/userid/[AUTHORID]/default.aspx" target=_blank][AUTHOR][/A]

100 is the tabid of your profile page, userid is the key of your profile module.

thanks.
