Yes, this is different than an external folder option. It is a more narrow idea that will support Amazon S3 only but ultimately it is more scalable. Having an external folder option is ok (separate backups etc.) but if you have any kind of larger traffic it will be hard to support from your server anyway. Our wishes have FINALLY come true! The latest release of UVG now supports Amazon S3...... I want to thank you Pengtsen for adding this enhancement to the module, and praise any of those who may have sponsored it.............. Could everyone who is using s3 go and give their opinion on the feature request here: http://www.bizmodules.net/Support/tabid/55/forumid/12/tpage/1/view/topic/postid/11982/Default.aspx#12077 It will essentially allow the s3 integration to work with Cloudfront distributions through a simple url replace. I assume that everyone here who uses s3 to store video wants their video to work with distributions and regional caches right? Thanks!
