| I am looking for a gallery i can add on a users profile and they can upload their own images. I also need to have a main gallery, which will list all the galleries so users can browse the different galleries from one gallery. This site will have MANY users! Can this module perform this scenario and handle a large number of users easily? |

| OOPs wrong gallery. Well i need the same for both images and video. So if you can answer for both UMG and UVG it will help. |

UMG:
All features you asked are supported except the central gallery, UMG can run in personal gallery mode so your users can create their own albums and pictures, but there isn't a central gallery, however, if you have a profile module, visitors can click a user from profile module and see his works.
UVG:
You can configre it so all users can upload videos, they are displayed together, the UVG_UserVideos module can be used to show videos from specific user or current user. |

| Ok, can you tell me the directory structure the images are stored in? Is there a main directory, then subdirectories within that for each user and the images are stored there? If the directory structure is something like this then we can maybe user another for a central gallery. |

The directory structure in UMG is like this:
for each gallery instance, UMG create a folder in:
portal root/UltraPhotoGallery/moduleId/
And for each album in this gallery instance, UMG create a folder for it with its albumId, in each album, UMG have these directories:
large - used to store the large version of photos
thumb - used to store thumbnails
mp3 - store music
downloads - store downloads
cache - store xml cache file, once you add or update something in your gallery, this folder is cleared, so UMG know that there was some changes and xml files should be regenerated.
