Hi everybody,
I guess I have the most common problem there is for both UVG and UMG.
I bought these great apps earlier today and everything seems to be working ok, it even reports that ajax pro is installed, probably this has something to do that ajax is supported by DNN, in another version I guess, but still.
Anyway, I am just asking, because I can't find anywhere on the net some instructions on how to edit the web.config file to add these dll's to the website.
Maybe some faq section on this site for instance.
I noticed that you ask others to send the web.config file to you but I didn't want to do this prior to posting inhere, anyway..... maybe it's easier for everybody to make a faq or some info in the manual to be able to do it yourself, or maybe this will give everybody even more headaches. |

Problem is solved, installed UVG temporary on a local testserver and changed the web.config settings according to the settings on my local site. Now I only need to upload the binaries folder, don't know if my provider is so glad with this, or that I can even use the conversion module, anyhow.... the configuration wizzard shows up with this issue, so I am doing as asked. |

to install and use UVG, some lines need to be added to your web.config, but this is an automated process, just finish the configuration wizard then UVG will add these lines for you. sometimes I require to send me the web.config because the client is having problem with it. in most case this is not necessary. thanks. |

| Yes, you're right, but like in my case, the provider doesn't give you write access directly to the root, so that's what my problem was, but once again everything is working fine now I hope ;) |

ok. however, UVG assume you do have write permission to your web.config because generally this permisison is there, when you install DNN your web.config is changed by DNN too. |

yes, I am aware of that, that's why it's impossible to install DNN on godaddy shared hosting environments. But you can still manage to do that with some workarounds, but still you need to manually change your web.config file or any other file in the root, which is changed. Maybe it would be an idea for the DNN Core team to make some kind of change to automatically update web.config in config dir or something, so you can manually move this file to the root by ftp, or godaddy changes the root permissions or transfer to another provider or dedicated server plan, but still I can live with this, so I stick to the manual editing mode. In the mean time I keep dreaming of my very own private server with the right amount of diskspace bandwith and ofcourse data transfer ;) |

just a small question more, is it true that the installation on my localhost has full capability? Because I seem to remember I had to register this module on my website, otherwise you couldn't get more than 3 video's on the site, but on my site it seems to be without this limitation. If so, I think I will let this module run on my local site, just to test around with all kinds of settings instead of using them in a live environment. |
