Local Install
Recent Upgrade to DNN 4.8
Prior DNN Version 4.6.2
UVG Ver 2.4 trial version
IIS 5, ASP 2
Permissions Unrestricted

Also have Flash Pro 8 and Video Encoder Installed w/Flash Player 9
-all recently updated

I've been able to upload and convert to FLV and properly view in the player. I've never tried to directly upload FLV in DNN 4.6.2 so i don't know if it worked previously.

Currently when attempting to upload FLV files that have been created with "Flash Pro 8 Encoder" or with "UVG Encoder" installed on my pc, there are no errors in my DNN install whatsoever. When viewing videos in list view, the videos are even getting screenshots pulled and thumbs are being displayed, but when going to the player, the video will not play, Player loads, but is blank.

I've checked my event log and there are no errors there either.
Re-ran Config with no problems. Double Checked my web.config file and all seems ok.
I then re-installed UVG trial 2.4 and re-ran config. There has been no change in display if directly uploading FLV files.

I've also have a windows live account and have tried to upload FLV files there with a direct link to the file when adding a video in UVG, and those won't display. I have noticed prior links to FLV files still display properly.

Binaries are installed, but have not been reinstalled since upgrade to DNN 4.8

Any Ideas?

videos converted from other formats works fine, only direct flv videos don't work, is that right?

please try to select "i can't see it" in flv mime type step of the configuration wizard.

thanks.

I forgot to mention that part also. I've already tried it. Then retried it.

I went ahead and did a proper uninstall via the config module first to restore my web.config file. (I also compared it to a prior backup from DNN 4.6.2 before upgrade to DNN 4.8) then uninstalled ONLY "UVG_AddVideo" then reinstalled and also reinstalled binaries. Did a reconfigure through the config module and recreated a new web.config file, again checked it in comparison to my prior backup.

During config I did as you previously explained "I can't see". And still the same problem. FLV's upload and screenshots taken and no errors on upload, etc but not playing in the player.

I then went back to config module re-ran and checked "I can see" tried again and the same thing.

Just tinkering around, I went ahead and uploaded a FLV from UVG converter to my site. I then went on the site selected the video  and linked it to a category and approved it.....................IT SHOWED UP JUST FINE, no problems!

The same file UVG converter created is the same one I have been attempting to upload directly from the add video module with no success.

Now, I wonder why the converter will upload FLV just fine but I can't do it through the add video module? Any thoughts?

at first, the latest trial version is 2.1, you can download it in Downloads page on this website, please upgrade first.

secondly, is your flv video converted by UVG Converter? can you play it in flv player(search Riva flv player if you don't have one)

thirdly, if you still have problem, you may consider to have a virtual meeting with me by Gotomeeting.

thanks.

Thanks Pengtsen,

I saw the new demo version last night. I'll do an update and try that.
I've tried both UVG Converter and Flash Video Converter with no success for uploads using "add video module".

I'll report back once I have tried the update and checked on Riva.
I am assuming since there have been no other reports of this behavior it most likely has something to do with my environment or other components, but we'll see..........

Just an update,

Issues have been resolve. My dev box crashed and I resorted to all my backups with a fresh OS, etc...

I now have no issues with UVG, but looking back, I'm guessing my issue had to do with MIME types with IIS for anyone else who may have the same issue.
