do I need to install the binary pack for the manual screenshot capture to work?

we will not allow for video conversions on our server. when I uploaded a flv video the manual screenshot capture is not working.

thanks.

yes, capturing screenshot depends on binary pack support.

however, try to upload ffmpeg*.exe ONLY to your server, you don't need other files.

thanks.

thanks! will give it a try.

it maybe a nice feature to have an auto capture when uploading a flv file. right not it is not very intuitive for an end user - they need to upload a video and then figure out that they have to go to the video edit page to get a screen capture. three extra clicks and some brain effort could be quite a turn-off for the impatient internet user:)

Pengtsen, I first installed the two ffmpeg*.exe files and it didn't work. Then I installed the whole binary pack and it is still not working.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

well, UVG do capture a screenshot from uploaded video is binary pack is installed and you passed the permission check.

so you have while binary pack installed now, but did you pass the permission check?

Yes, that was the problem. After installing the binary pack you need to go back and run the permission check for UVG to recognize that that is installed now. Then it works.

One pleasant surprise. It actually does capture a screen shot when you are uploading a FLV file. Does this mean that it goes thru the encoding process even if it is a flv file when you have the binary installed?

no, UVG doesn't encode flv videos at all, it just use FFMepg to capture a screenshot from it.

great forum, I found this topic is exactly what my problem is,

where does one get the binary pack? Was it supposed to be included in the 9110_0_UVG_206_DNN4.zip package?

TIA

Never mind, I found in downloads, your site is too easy to use, some other module sites (ah another story :) - well I should'nt assume all sites are like those -
