We are using PersonalGallery and UltraPhot0Galllery together so that an UltraPhotoGallery module is added to their new tab along with some other core dnn modules.  User's do not have control of the entire tab.

Once the tab is created.  The user can edit any of the modules on the tab except for UltraPhotoGallery.  DNN recognized that the user has permission to edit the module because it give the user the drop down menu in the upper left-hand corner.  The menu, however, only contains "help" and online help.  They cannot see the tab menu across the top.

Sometimes, the module works fine and the user does gain access the administrative menu but more often, does not see this menu.  It seems to be completely random when the module works and when it does not.

I've also tried adding the UltraPhotoGallery to a page manually and giving a registered user permission to edit the module and experience the same issue--sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Any help you could offer would be appreciated.

We're running DNN 3.1.1 with UPG 2.5.7 and PG 1.0 (for other versions).

Yes, this is a known issue, and I remember this problem occurs in DNN 3.3.x/4.3.x only.

The reason is DNN don't refresh security caches for current user if you don't re-login.  there should a message saying that "If you can't edit your personal gallery, please login again." affer creation of a personal gallery.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.  We have tried logging out and logging back in, but still do not have access to the administrative flash menu or the module settings.

-DotNetNuke recognizes the user as having permission to edit the module.  The user has access to the menu in the upper left-hand corner.  The user would not be able to see this menu if he didn’t have edit permissions for the module.  From the drop down menu, the user only has access to “help” and “online help.” The user cannot see the module settings.

-User can edit all other modules on the tab.  The FlashGallery module is the only module that we are having trouble with.

-This issue is intermittent.  Sometimes the user can see the administrative flash menu and module settings.  Other times he cannot.

-“Get tab ownership” is turned off and needs to be turned off for our purposes.

Here is a screen shot which illustrates this issue: http://interport3.equatekinteractive.com/Portals/91/clientfiles/gallery.jpg

Could you please tell me the last modified date of the core DNN in module PA? I remember it is a fixed issue.

Thanks.

The personal gallery dll is version 1.0.0.19774

Modified Saturday, August 05, 2006, 11:16:00 AM

This DLL is from "PG 1.0 for other versions.zip" which we've assumed is the correct version for DNN 3.1

Thanks.

Ok, This problem is fixed in the for 3.3.x/4.3.x version, but I didn't realise this problem exist in this version too. I just updated the PA on Snowcovered.com, My Downloads page, plesae download it and try again.

Thanks.

Thanks for your help!  This seems to resolve the issue.  I haven't been able to reproduce the error yet.

Thank you again for your help.  We have a suggestion that would greatly expand the functionality of this module and give it an even greater marketing appeal.

I wish we could add content to a new user’s tab.  In other words, I wish we had the option of copying content from an existing module.

In the PG module’s general settings:

-The administrator would add a new module from a list of available modules (as you already have)

-The administrator would click the pencil icon to edit the module (as you already have)

-The administrator enters a module title and destination pane (as you already have)

From this point, the administrator has two options.

The administrator could save his current settings, which would add a new blank module.

OR

The administrator could decide to copy content from an existing module.

-If the administrator wants to copy content from an existing module, he clicks a checkbox that says “Copy content from existing module”.  This displays a menu that allows the administrator to navigate to an existing module (like when adding an existing module in dnn).

-The administrator chooses an existing module on his site from which to copy content.  The existing module (where we copy content from) would have to be the same type of module as the new module.

With this small piece of functionality, administrators could give their users who are unfamiliar with dnn some instructions on how to edit their modules.  Administrators could also create links to pages on their site to highlight particular content.  Administrators could place the user’s account settings directly on the page without everyone else seeing a login/registration module.  Tab owners could create task lists, manage a personal calendar, and send messages to other users.  This functionality would keep PG users coming back to the site and logging in.

Thanks for your suggestion, yes I do realised this problem and I would like to do it in this way:

The administrators can import module contect from exported content in another module, so the modules must support standard DNN import and export interface.

I don't have time to enhance this  module shortly, but I'll try to do this when I have time.

Thanks.
