I'd like for my users to be able to upload a video, and let it be encoded in the background (like youtube and other sites do).  Is this possible?

What happens if the user navigates away before encoding is finished?  Does it continue or fail?

yes, this is the basic design of UVG. the encoding doesn't take a long time expect the source video is long. however, I didn't tried what happens when navigate wasy before the encoding finished, I'll try it and give you further reply.

thanks.

Right.  I'd love it though if the encoding process happened and the user just saw a message that the video will show up once encoded/approved.  Is this possible to do with a simple modification to the code?  Or is the it required for the browser to stay active until coding completes.

I'm working on a site where people will be uploading videos that are up to 40 minutes long.  I'd really prefer they not have to wait on it to encode.

Lastly, as always, I appreciate your support.  The enterprise version with source code I bought has been worth every penny.

yes, UVG do behaves in this way, when you press upload, the upload progress panel appears, here you can see the upload progress bar in graphic, once uploaded, the progress bar dissppears and a message appears: Your video is being encoded, please wait... a new dot(.) is appended to this messag every second until the video is encoded and added to database.

thanks.
