I am curious regarding the mail flow when registering for an event.

Here is a list of questions

1- For starters when you register for an event the end user gets an email with the following.

    Hello,
Thanks for your booking, your just booked Test Event Name (Booking No.= 3) on Alabama Technology Network, please be ware your booking will not be completed before you pay for it.
For further information please fell free to contact us.
    Thank you.

I am not sure what the purpose of the (Booking No. = 3) represents. At first I though it was the primary key of the booking however I have added several before doing this test event which seems to suggest this is not the case.

Then I thought maybe it had to do with the total bookings for that event, since this was only my second test that cancels out that possibility.

It would be great to be able to modify this email, is this possible with the current installed module or is this something buried in the code that has to come in a form of an update from you.

2- Basically the same questions as number 1 regarding the conformation email you receive after paying for the event.

3- Regarding the emails you receive if you are the one creating an event. I am talking about the field where you can input one or more email address when creating a new event.

It appears that the same identical email messages are sent to the facilitator of the event, this is confusing. It should be more on the lines of the following.

    Hello,
This is to inform you that "Name of attendee" has successfully registered and paid for "The Event Name"
For further information please log into the portal
    Thank you.

Again just a ruff draft however it should be more informative to the facilitator and not repeat the same information sent to the person registering.

3- Regarding the information sent to the payment processor.

We examining my Paypal receipt I noticed it did have the Event name in the description and an included "Item# 88" I am assuming that this may indeed be the Primary Key for that event. However it provides no value to the person paying or the facilitator of the event. The only way you can really go back and audit this if you need to issue an refund it look at the email address or name of the person and or the event name.

Also I noticed at the bottom of the PayPal receipt it says Invoice ID: 3, I am wondering if this has any correlation to the "Booking No = 3" stated above.

Any help on this would be most helpfull .

    Doug

Just a follow up on this.

I just noticed that there is a template editor within the module that contains email templates. My question is do you have a list of available tokens that you are allowed to use within the body of the email..

Booking No.= 3 is just the ID of this booking. You might use this number to lookup the booking table to pull out some data if you wish. If you donot want to have this in the email, you can modify the template to get rid of it.

In page 24 of our user manual you can use a detailed list of supported tokens.

Yea I ended up looking through the manual and saw the tokens.

I guess to take this further, can you use the DNN tokens as well. we had a meeting today to review the site and it was brought up that the Company name should be included. I collect this information during registration, but I was unable to use DNN tokens from what I could tell.

If it is just a few tokens I can definatley support them for you, but you need to get list a complete list of token names and what they will be replaced to.

Well the key ones would deal with the user profile, that would help most users of the product. For my use it would be especially helpful for any custom that a enduser would create.

I made a custom DNN profile token to collect the registering persons Company Name, because thins is information we need when someone registers for a event. I am basically building a separate front in for our office managers to view the current bookings from your module now. Then associating the UserID collected in FlexEvents to the company name in the profile that matches.

So basically, what you need is a token which will be replaced to the user's Company Name, which is a custom filed of your user profile system?

Correct. Of course i am sure it would be beneficial to other users to have access to the DNN tokens as well.

I would think this is easy to do considering the Text/Html module has a check box in the setting to toggle using DNN tokens.

The Email TO: field is not being populated in the outbound emails.
