Brettle.Web.NeatUpload.Internal.Module.FilteringWorkerRequest.ParseMultipart() +1875
Brettle.Web.NeatUpload.UploadHttpModule.WaitForUploadToComplete() +87
Brettle.Web.NeatUpload.UploadHttpModule.Application_ResolveRequestCache(Object sender, EventArgs e) +138
System.Web.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() +68

I've solved it. I think this should be threaded as to solutions are on few separated pages:

Worst, it was in other site: http://www.snapsis.com/Support/tabid/601/aff/9/aft/10918/afv/topic/Default.aspx and it does not have a clear instruction for ordinary users.

Solution:

Download web.config, look for

(around 100+ lines)
<!-- HttpModules for Common Functionality -->
<httpModules>
<!-- add name="Authentication" type="DotNetNuke.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule, DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Authentication" / -->
<add name="UploadHttpModule" type="Brettle.Web.NeatUpload.UploadHttpModule, Brettle.Web.NeatUpload" />

This: <add name="UploadHttpModule" type="Brettle.Web.NeatUpload.UploadHttpModule, Brettle.Web.NeatUpload" />

has to be on top of others.

We have experienced this same problem since upgrading to DNN 5.6.1 earlier this week.

If we move the UploadHttpModule entry to the top of the modules section, we not longer get the error, but instead we get an error because the the UrlRewrite module comes after the UploadHttpModule. If we move it to immediately after the UrlRewrite then we still get the error posted below - we seem to be stuck in a no-win conflict here. We upgraded to UVG 4.1.1 to see if that helped and even tried downloading the latest NeatUpload binaries, but still no go.

We have disabled the UploadHttpModule in order to make our site functional for the moment - any help?

Thanks,
Brian

By the way, the one we had to move is the line in system.webServer > modules - the one in system.web > httpModules exists at the top of the list without problem.

We seem to be having a similar problem. We recently moved a clients DNN 6.2 site with UVG 4 to a new server with IIS 7.5 (vs 6) and are getting the same error as the first poster.

I attempted to move NeatUpload up to the top of system.webServer > modules which seemed to work, but I have found exceptions when processing Ajax requests since.

One example of these error is while logging in (copied from firebug)

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 404

My guess is we are running in to the same issue as the second last poster and that error happens due to URLMaster being below it.

Any ideas what we can try to fix it?

My suggestion is an upgrade to UVG 5.

Then you no longer need Neatupload, UVG automatically switch to RadUpload when work on DNN 6.x.

Is this a free upgrade? We just recently purchased UVG 4 within the past 2-3 months.

OK.

One more question, I am doing all of my work currently on a staging site. According to the manual for UVG5 I will need to upgrade our license before installing UVG5. Will this license upgrade allow UVG4 to continue to work properly on the live site?

As long as I'm posting, the manual states:

"Ensure you no longer use above modules, then you can leave them alone of uninstall them in Host –
Extensions (or Host – Module Definition)."

Is the "of" supposed to be an "or"? Leaving them won't break the site as long as we're not using them correct?

Thanks for your time.

It is "or", not "of", in DNN 6 it is Host - Extensions, in DNN 4 it is Host - Module Definition.

The license upgrade still allows you to use UVG 4 on live site.

Leaving them alone means, these modules are still available in your module list, but you don't use them becuase they wont work.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object. exactly what it says, you are trying to use a null object as if it was a properly referenced object. Most of the time, when you try to assing value into object, and if the value is null, then this kind of exception occur. NullReferenceException indicates that you are trying to access member fields, or function types, on an object reference that points to null. That means the reference to an Object which is not initialized.
