For uploaded videos, each user gets their own folder, like Portals\4\UltraVideoGallery\gus.

We'd like to have one default storage location for all users in all portals, like Portals\_default\Videos, but I don't see a configuration for this in the UVG modules or in the plain-text config files.

I created that local generic folder, Portals\_default\Videos, copied a video file into it, and 'uploaded' from there, but it still gets copied to my personal UVG folder.

Please advise.

(We want to keep all our video files local in our DNN installation, so the Amazon S3 solution won't work for us.)

If you add video with "from url" option, your videos will not be moved.

does it help?

Yes, that did work-- thanks! I copied the video to our target folder, and it stayed put after adding it 'From URL'.

Which now (naturally!) brings up a new question please.

Once the video has been uploaded, you get the "Share..." button that offers the "Share URL" and the "Embed Code" options. Both of those bits of code- if you add them to a dnn page in some other portal- take you back to the Videos page for playback. But what we want is to let our staff be able to get a link that embeds the video in their own pages, not sending the end user to the Videos page. Is there some third format of URL that would allow this?

I'm sorry I don't fully understand, maybe you can show me some screenshots to better demonstrate it?

Sorry about that! Let me break that down:

1. We do get a successful load of the new video into the video gallery using the "From URL" option, and that does leave the video file in the storage location like we want, and we have the one video gallery in our host,
and the one default library too. All good.

2. Now given our centralized video scheme, each of our separate staff users needs to embed a video in a way that it will playback on their own pages in their own (non-video) portals. In other words, not taking the end user away from that portal and on to the video gallery.

3. But in the video gallery, under the "Share..." button, we get two bits of code:

Share URL:
http://cms.uflib.ufl.edu/web/VideoGallery/VideoPlayer/TabId/397/VideoId/6/GeorgiaSeagleHallUpload.aspx

Embed Code:
<iframe src='http://cms.uflib.ufl.edu/web/DesktopModules/UltraVideoGallery/Popup.aspx?PortalId=4&Mode=Lightbox&VideoId=6'
width='500' height='475' frameborder='0' scrolling='no' />

but neither of them does what we want. They both take the end user to the video gallery, away from the original portal. Neither of them provides for playback embedded on the page that has the link.

I tried replacing the URL in the 'Embed Code' with the one from 'Share URL', but that threw an application error.

Maybe you can simply hide them in embed mode?

Actually, we *almost* have what we want!

For some reason, the portal name got into the "Embed Code" and I believe that is what was throwing the application error.

So if we manually remove the portal name from the 'src' value, and embed this on a page in another portal,

<iframe src="http://cms.uflib.ufl.edu/DesktopModules/UltraVideoGallery/Popup.aspx?PortalId=15&Mode=Lightbox&VideoId=11" width="500" height="475" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

and it works exactly as we like... except for the autoplay.

I'm not seeing a good answer in the forum to stop autoplay. I see the setting on the YouTube tab, but that does not apply here.

Is it a parameter in the URL? An attribute/value for the iframe? Or maybe ditch the iframe and control it from object/embed elements?

We're using UVG5 with DNN6.2. Please advise.

If this is a youtube video, the "auto play" option in UVG_Config module -> Youtube tab applies.

If this is a local uploaded video, the "Auto play" option in "Appearance Settings" of UVG_VideoPlayer module applies.
