concerning UVG, it would be great to have a configuration option (or some means) to set storage of videos to outside of the website content root (like bring2mind's Document management module for instance).

Our problem is, we are using this within an intranet, so utilizing external storage like S3 is prohibited by our corporate policy, but with the files currently within the context root, whenever we want to backup to snap a copy of prod back to dev/qa (or backup before installing new modules), we either need to explicitly remember not to copy the UVG folder, or we have to wait for the Gigs and Gigs worth of video data we have to backup.

I've seen one or two posts on this issue from way back, but it looks like for the bulk of those people, the S3 option did the trick.

Anyways, can you let me know if this is on the radar for any future releases? If anyone else thinks this is a worthwhile enhancement, please let bizmodules know.

This is currently not in our plan, but I'll consider this change in UVG 5.

thank you very much for sharing your thoughts me.
