Hello,

I have recently been trying to upgrade my site. Lots of the videos weren't playing. Appearently for quite some time they have not worked. I went to snowcovered and download the 2.5 version. I was running the 2.4 . After the upgrade upon testing I noticed that the URL of the related videos (and only the related videos as far as I can tell) all have localhost in the URL

EXAMPLE www.bizmodules.net/TabId/90/VideoId/741/Video-Example.aspx becomes localhost.bizmodules.net/TabId/90/VideoId/741/Video-Example.aspx

I realize I could fix this by modifying my IIS and adding the localhost, but I would prefer to not do this, as it will probably just create even more problems down the line.

Do you have a fix for this? the upgrade to UVG 2.5 seemed to go fine with no errors. I searched the forum for a fix via the search on this page, but it found no results.

Pleasde Advise.
Thank you in advance.

Any video on my site is doing this (at least ones that have related videos)

Click on the link in my signature to see one...

I logged in as host and checked the portal alias(es). I had entries for www.bentangle.tv, bentangle.tv, and localhost.bentangle.tv the LAST entry was the localhost.bentangle.tv It appears the code that creates the URLS for the related video, is checking the portal alias entries for the portal, and for whatever reason it was picking a Portal alias I only use for testing purposes when needed. This is what was creating the error.

Wouldnt it be better to get the URL for the related videos from the request object and not from a database lookup into the portals table?

In my case when I make changes or upgrade my site, I set up a new website in IIS, and use the header localhost.bentangle.tv to point to a different wwwroot folder and a different database. that way my PRODUCTION site continues to work when people request http://bentangle.tv and http://www.bentangle.tv. And when I make requests to http://localhost.bentangle.tv I get my TEST website.

Once again I ask...

Wouldnt it be better to get the URL for the related videos from the request object and not from a database lookup into the portals table?

I have deleted the portal alias for localhost.bentangle.tv, and that fixed the 'problem' I was having, but I am not happy about doing that, because now each time I want to do testing on my site using http://localhost.bentangle.tv I have to make changes to my database and add and remove the portal alias. No other modules on my site have had this problem, only the bizmodule related module does this bad behavior. The other random videos module behaves properly, why does the related videos behave badly?

I have added the localhost.bentangle.tv entry back into the database so that you may see the error.

Please advise if you are able to correct this bug.

Thank You.

I have decided to try a fresh install of DNN5.41 and see if this solves some of the other problems I have been having.

I belive the problem is that you have another portal alis in your portal which start with localhost.
